WP5.1 Fire Safety and Access Systems

In this Work Package (WP), all works with respect to fire detection and fire protection are coordinated. This includes fire detection (surface and underground), sprinkler systems, fire compartmentalization and dry risers. Additionally, the Access Control for the North Area is coordinated inside this WP, along with gas detection. This WP is led by EN/AA.

WP5.2 Radiation Protection

WP 5.2 oversees the integration of the new CROME system in the North Area, the consolidation of the buffer zones, surveys and manpower for the works in hot areas and also the design studies. This WP is led by HSE/RP.

WP5.3 Occupational Safety

WP 5.3 is where the coordination of the YETS with respect to Safety takes place, namely through Safety Coordination Meetings that take place a month before as well as during the YETS. It is a WP that interfaces with WC6 (coordination) for the management of VICs, co-activities and mitigation measures for the works. One other important contribution of this WP is its interface with HSE. There is a dedicated project team for a FIRIA study in TDC2/TCC2, an ongoing seismic analysis of the shielding and any other studies necessary to safely deliver North Area operation. This WP is coordinated by the PSO.

WP5.4 Safety File

The Safety FIle (SF() is one of the main deliverables of the project with respect to Safety which shall be handed over to the authorities in light of the tripartite agreement. The SF has a delivery date for LS3. This WP is coordinated by the PSO.
