Work Breakdown Structure
The Infrastructure & Services Coordinator is responsible for overseeing technical and civil engineering services activities related to the NA-CONS Project. This includes managing procurement, installation, and commissioning, ensuring coordination until completion or specific milestones are achieved. Effective coordination involves continuous communication with Work Package Leaders, Project Management, and other stakeholders, organizing formal and informal exchanges across Work Coordination Package 4 (WC4). The WC4 leader actively participates in project board meetings and is a member of the NA-CONS Project team.
The scope of the WC4 covers the following areas in accordance with the Work Breakdown Structure (see section 4):
- Civil Engineering (WP 4.1)
- False Floors, Barracks and User Areas (WP 4.2)
- Gas Distribution and Controls (WP 4.3)
- Cooling and Ventilation (WP 4.4)
- Electrical and Fiber Infrastructure (WP 4.5)
- Cryogenics (WP 4.6)
- Cranes and Lifts (WP 4.7)
- Telecom and Network (WP 4.8)
WP4.1 Civil Engineering
The WP 4.1 consists of the refurbishment of underground tunnels, galleries, experimental halls surface building as well as some general civil engineering works (e.g. doors and fences) in North Area.
WP4.2 False Floors and Baracks, User Areas
The WP 4.2 consists of the renovation of false floors, barracks (users and counting rooms), mechanical workshop, storage and users’ areas as well as shielding.
WP4.3 Gas Distribution and Controls
The WP 4.3 consists of the consolidation of the gas supply and distribution system for the North Area included control system and supervision.
WP4.4 Cooling & Ventilation
The WP 4.4 consists firstly of the consolidation of primary, demineralized, and chilled water systems, secondly the consolidation of ventilation system for underground areas, galleries, experimental halls and gas buildings, thirdly the compressed air distribution and lastly the heating system for the buildings and halls.
WP4.5 Electrical and Fiber Infrastructure
The WP 4.5 consists of the consolidation of the electrical infrastructure for the pulsed network (magnets), the stable network (all other users), 3.3 kV power supply to Cryo, the secured network, supervision, AUG and UPS. The work package involves also renovation of the general services, cabling for both machine and user’s infrastructure and lastly the fiber optics infrastructure.
WP4.6 Cryogenics
The WP 4.6 consists of the replacement/refurbishment of centrifugal pumps, LHe level gauges, He-gas volume measurement and cryo control racks piston compressor set.
WP4.7 Cranes and Lifts
The WP 4.7 consists of the renovation of overhead cranes in experimental halls and caverns as well as the renovation of personal lifts.
WP4.8 Communication Network
The WP 4.8 consist of the consolidation of the mobile/Tetra coverage, the WiFi-network and provision according to network requests.
