Work Breakdown Structure
The scope of Work Category 3 Coordination – Beamline Engineering encompasses specific areas outlined in the Work Breakdown Structure. This includes coordination of the primary beam area, covering TT20 and TDC2 beamlines, as well as the secondary beam area, comprising TCC2, all secondary beam lines, experimental halls, and caverns. The hardware perimeter of coordination includes beam instrumentation, intercepting devices, primary and secondary targets, vacuum systems for both primary and secondary beamlines, support structures for alignment, motorized tables, and beamline configuration, including associated activities, studies, and documentation.
The Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) for WC3 is shown in Figure 2. WC3 comprises five Work Packages (WP):
- WP 3.1 – Beamline Instrumentation
- WP 3.2 – Beam Intercepting Devices
- WP 3.3 – Vacuum
- WP 3.4 – Support Structures
- WP 3.5 – Beamline Configuration

WP3.1 Beam Instrumentation
In order to improve the operability, reliability, availability, maintainability and safety of the North Area Beam Instrumentation (BI), a consolidation program is required.

WP3.2 BID's
In order to improve the operability, reliability, availability, maintainability and safety of the North Area Beam Intercepting Devices (BIDs), a consolidation program is required.

WP3.3 Vacuum
In order to improve the operability, reliability, availability, maintainability and safety of the North Area Vacuum lines and systems, a consolidation program is required.

WP3.4 Support Structures
In order to improve the operability, reliability, availability, maintainability and safety of the North Area Support Structures of the beamline equipment, a consolidation program is required.

WP3.5 Beamline Configuration
This work package mainly focuses on the liaison with the experiments, and specifically the experimental schedule, the various beam-line configurations (taking into account the different beam-line studies) and therefore define the consolidation & upgrade needs, in close interaction and collaboration with the experiments.
